Notes on the site of the NXT takeover: What happens after the show, live reactions, wrestling fans invade local bars, and so on.

Below are my personal notes from last night's NXT Takeover: New York event, as well as the press conference after the backstage show with Triple H and some other notes from the evening.

– The show was a legitimate sale. There were a few free places scattered here and there, but there will always be people who will not show up or scalpers who could not unload one or two tickets. There was nothing there.

– For those who wondered why the crowd was chanting words during the opening match, there was an odious projector that shone over much of the upper deck. The huge pop and the song "You deserve it" were a reaction to the extinct light.

– The crowd was 80/20 behind Velveteen Dream during the match for the North American title. It was not like everyone had hated Riddle, and he might not have been booed over him in the intros. At the end of the match, everyone liked both guys and reached about 60/40 Dream. It was funny, because at a media meeting after the show, backstage, Triple H had told us that it sounded like 50/50. This was not it.

– Personally, I loved the WALTER / Dunne match, but I really felt like it was lacking in energy. It was a slow game and at school which took a long time to start. In the end, the crowd was in, but not as much as on the map. There was also the factor that winning WALTER won was so obvious, and people were rather waiting, talking to each other, going to get food and wait for the end.

– The main event was live as a classic all time, but many of us were worried at first because the audience was really not there before the third act. The action was great, but the crowd was tired and knew the match would last so long. They are sort of rhythmic. You will notice that the third fall was RED HOT however. I would say it was 60/40 for Cole initially, although the Adam Cole Baybay slogans were booming. When they had the incredible sequence of near-falls at the end, the reactions were, I would say, among the three strongest reactions from the crowd that I've ever seen live (the other being Cena / Punk at Money in the Bank the title NWA on ALL IN).

– The network supply ended with Johnny, Ciampa and Candace in arms. After the cameras stopped, Ciampa quickly teased to launch Candace in the tron. It was less than two seconds, and if you blinked, you missed it. Everyone laughed about that. The couple left Ciampa to have their moment with the fans, then Johnny came back and took a victory lap around the ring with his title.

– They were selling Johnny Champion shirts immediately after the show.

– There were so many members of the press behind the scenes at the press conference. They tried to answer the questions on the phone lines, which are generally crowded and impossible to reach, but there were two questions and no one else for the rest of the night. Everyone was in the room.

– Several of us went for a drink in a bar near the arena after the press conference. He was packed with wrestling fans. Very, very drunk fight fans. At one point, a drunk man in a "Stone Cold" jacket, wearing a replica of the belt, stood on a table and cut out a terrible promo, and as 30 people had chanted it. Things went wrong and many people were finally invited to leave or were completely withdrawn.

– Shoutout to Raj Giri and Nick Hausman from WrestlingINC and Ryan Satin from Pro Wrestling Sheet, as well as a few others who stayed around and had fun!
