Kirsten Gillibrand on Trump: "A toddler who melts and makes bad decisions"

"I see it differently," Gillibrand told the president on Saturday. "I see it as I would see a toddler who melts and makes bad decisions, and you do not punch a toddler, you do not say," Oh, you're not that a little con. No, it does not work. No, you argue with them saying, "Oh, honey, but it's nap time. Let's go get your favorite stuffed animal."

Gillibrand went on to explain how she plans to campaign directly against the president in 2020.

"I would speak around him with a bolder and broader vision for this country than today because he has unfortunately lied to the American people," she said.

Gillibrand added that she thought the country's problems did not really concern Trump.

"I think it's a symptom of a much bigger problem," she said. "I think the real problem in this country is that greed and corruption decide everything in Washington."

Gillibrand told voters in New Hampshire what she thought Trump had been running in 2016 to seduce voters, saying he had dropped the Americans with unfulfilled promises of the presidency spread hatred, division and fear.

Gillibrand, unlike the president, says she can use "common sense answers" to solve the country's problems.

"I'm going to beat him by having a broader vision for America," she said.
