The man was hunting with a group in the South African reservation Tuesday when he was trampled by the elephant, reported the Letaba Herald. Four other hunters were arrested on Wednesday.
The poachers told what had happened to this man's family. The family members then called the park officials, who started searching for his remains. A human skull and pants were found Thursday. It is believed that a man proud of having eaten the man after crushing him.
Park officials issued a warning and condolences to the man's family.
"Entering Kruger National Park illegally and on foot is not wise, this involves many dangers and this incident is the proof," said Glenn Phillips, who runs the national reserve, at Letaba Herald. "It is very sad to see the daughters of the deceased mourning the loss of their father and, worse still, being able to recover very little of his remains."
