Authorities were responding to reports that six people were shot dead Saturday night in the West Englewood neighborhood.
The incident occurred around 18:21. in the 6300 block of South Seeley Ave., according to police.
The authorities stated that two of these people were children; a 10-year-old girl who was shot in the shin and an 8-year-old boy who was shot in the chest and back. Both were taken to the Comer Children's Hospital in a stable state, the police said.
A 29-year-old woman shot in the chest and shoulder was rushed to hospital in critical condition, with a 42-year-old man shot twice in the hip, confirmed officials.
Two other men, a 23-year-old left-footed ball although in a stable condition and a 28-year-old right-hand ball, were rushed to Holy Cross Hospital. Aged 28, he was later taken to Mount Sinai Hospital for further assessment.
"The shooting took place at a family reunion," then tweeted Anthony Guglielmi, spokesman for the CPD.
The people on the scene do not cooperate with the detectives. The filming took place at a family reunion.

Guglielmi also mentioned on Twitter that the individuals present did not cooperate with the detectives.
At the present time, no offender has been arrested.
No other details were immediately known.
