A pretty big leak (courtesy of momomo_us) has just released the Intel pipeline: a set of slides containing performance figures and other details on the next flagship mobility product for the Intel Core i7-9750H. If you remember my exclusivity, I mentioned that they will be launched around April 21 and will be paired with NVIDIA GTX 1650 Ti and GTX 1650 graphics cards – which is now confirmed. The slides show a performance improvement of 28% over the latest 8750H processor generation.
The next flagship mobility product for the Intel Core i7-9750H will be 28% faster than the 8750H and 91% faster than the 7700HQ.
The first slide is probably one of the most exciting because, according to her, the Intel 9750H will be 28% faster than its predecessor: the Core i7-8750H. It goes without saying that this is a very impressive leap from one generation to another and from one base to another. The architectural improvements will not only translate into IPC gains, but the processor should be designed on the ultra-mature 14-nm process that will allow Intel to send phenomenal clock speeds. This is going to be a processor beast in the mobility segment and will face the AMD 3750H.
On the other hand, if you compare it to a Core i7-7700HQ, the brand new Core i7-9750H is almost twice as fast (91% to be accurate) as the old two-generation model. This is an absolutely senseless increase in performance because it's the same consumer segment and roughly the same TDP envelope. If you are a person waiting to be improved, now is the time!
The proven NVIDIA GTX 1650 4GB mobility GPU – clocked at 1395MHz and 41% faster than the GTX 1050
This leak not only confirms the existence of the GTX 1650 – which I've already talked about for a long time – but also tells us the performance! The GTX 1650 will be available in a 4GB flavor and will be 41% faster than a GTX 1050 and 24% faster than the GTX 1050 Ti.
This is a fairly serious upgrade for players and it is likely that power consumption will also be improved. We have the clock rates, but unfortunately, as the specifications are not confirmed at the moment, we will have to use supposed specifications to calculate the power: with a basic configuration of 1024 cores, you will get a peak of computation 2.8 + TFLOP – enough to play most AAA games in 1080p with medium to high settings.
The slide also mentions the frames per second of some popular titles such as GTA5, League of Legends, PUBG, Assassins Creed and Fortnite. The GTX 1650 is able to achieve the standard 60fps + on just about all these titles and even manages to reach the 90fps standard for 4 of the 6 titles presented. League of Legend players can play professionally at 120 FPS.
Finally, we have the name of the brand and the exact model number of the laptop in question, as well as other various specifications. The MSI GL63 will feature 16GB of RAM, a 512GB NVME PCI-E SSD, 4GB GTX 1650 graphics cards and the Intel Core i7-9750H processor. The display is a 1920 × 1080 IPS screen and the whole machine will weigh about 2 kg. An Intel Core i5-9300H variant is also available.
Intel's new mobility portfolio and NVIDIA Turing GPUs will fuel a whole new mobility upgrade cycle in 2019, and it's a good time to subscribe to it. Given the fact that AMD's competition will intensify, we expect the prices to be very attentive! Based on our past coverage, we expect these models to be available from early May. Another slide:
