Satoru Iwata may have left us years ago, but the impact that he has had and the spirit of man himself will never be forgotten. Example: this beautiful letter from Satoru Iwata that was sent to the Twitter user Kumozawa1203. The letter dates from 2013, at the time Kumozawa1203 was sending a letter as part of a school program. The program has had children who have contacted people / companies to discuss their future work goals. You can see Mr. Iwata's complete answer to the letter below.

This is Iwata from Nintendo.

Thank you for the letter. I am very happy that you chose Nintendo for your project "Hello Work at 12".

In college, I became interested in computers and, very quickly, I decided to seriously study computers in college. During my university studies, I realized how fun it was to create video games and I chose it for my work. Making video games is a job that requires a lot of energy, but for me, it was even more fun than playing those games. That and the fact that other people could also appreciate what I had done gave me a reason to be.

Game development requires the grouping of many different areas. You need people to imagine game designs, people to draw pictures, people to create music and sound effects, people to program, people to test the game, people to talk to. ensure that the team is working well, etc. That's why I do not think there's a good answer to the question of what you should study.

I think you'll be able to find what you're good at by thinking deeply about everything you're interested in, not just spend your days without increasing your knowledge, making a lot of discoveries and repeating this process. . Even if what you do well and what you like to do is not necessarily the same, I had the experience of others to recognize things I'm good at, even if I did not really like it at first . This is one of the reasons why you should continue to study and gain experience without bias.

Please do your best.
