CRÊME PHILADELPHIA – Rhys Hoskins found himself in a position to thrill the crowd on Sunday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park, because his teammate Zach Eflin matched a dominant performance by right-handed Jose Berrios twins throughout the day.

Hoskins took a step forward with the tie tied in the third and two outs in the sixth. He made a full account before fouling three lands. He then hit a full-center-left ball for a two-point home run to give the Phillies a decisive lead in a 2-1 win. The ball landed in the flowerbed, just out of reach of left defensive player Twins Eddie Rosario and central defensive player Byron Buxton.

Eflin then continued his progress by qualifying seventh. In seven sets, he allowed six hits, one point and one point at home – a first-leg match against Max Kepler in the first run. Eflin scratched five.

He has a silver medal of 0.75 in two starts this season.
