"I'm looking forward to running in 2020," Bennet told Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union" with Jake Tapper. "It was obviously unexpected, but we caught it early – it's something we're going to be able to deal with, and I do not think it should keep me off the track."
Bennet said during his interview with CNN that he would get a procedure during the judicial vacations, after which there would be a few weeks of recovery time, "but I would like to continue."
Bennet also stated that he had no symptoms and advised people to get tested.
"I feel as good this week as last week and the week before," Bennet said. "And I would have no way of knowing that I had prostate cancer if I had not done the screening."
Asked about CNN about the health care breakup of many advertised candidates, Bennet said he wanted to keep the "choice" of people in the health care market.
"What Colorado families want, it's a maximum choice for themselves and their families," Bennet said. "They want to have a strong and strong public option because they do not all want to be privately insured."
