Speaker of Parliament, Nancy Pelosi, said in an interview published Sunday that she was confident that Democrats will retain control of the House of Representatives in the 2020 elections.

In addition, Pelosi said she would be able to get another term for the Democratic majority by next November – a full year before voters go to the polls.

"I think our races will be won by November," Pelosi told the Washington Post. The speaker also issued a stern warning to Republicans – calling on incumbents of swinging districts to be "vulnerable" and urging GOP challengers to "think twice" before running.

"It's going to cost you millions of dollars to win or lose, and if you win, say you win, you're in the minority," Pelosi said.

Pelosi's comments come just months after Democrats take control of the House, ending eight years of GOP control. Democrats have recorded a net gain of 40 seats in the House.

Although House Democrats thwarted many of President Trump's plans, his party has had mixed results since he took control because the White House and Senate still sit in the hands of Republicans.

Trump also promised last week that the Republican Party would regain control of the House in the 2020 elections.

"We are going to take back the House, we are," said the President during a speech at the National Republican Congress Committee Spring Dinner. "I am totally confident."
