New Xbox Live services are expected to be announced this year as Sony's PS4 consoles continue to sell better than Microsoft's Xbox One console brand.
While sales of the Xbox One seem to be down in 2019, the tech giant seems to expand its Xbox Live Gold ecosystem with exciting new options.
Recent reports indicate that the technology giant is planning to launch a brand new Xbox One console, with the launch of their new Cloud Gaming activity this year.
And that does not mean what they've planned for the Xbox Game Pass and the Xbox Live Gold.
But none of this can change the fact that the PS4 continues to sell better than the Xbox console brand in 2019.
A new report released this week confirmed that the gap between the two gaming machines widened in February 2019.
The data shared by VGChartz covers the United States, a key market for both hardware manufacturers.
The good news is that even though more PlayStation 4s were sold in the region in February, this is not a huge number.
Here is an excerpt from the VGChartz report that reveals: "In February 2019, the gap in the United States between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has widened in favor of the PlayStation 4.
"The PlayStation 4 sold 67,145 more units than the Xbox One last month.
"The PlayStation 4 has also sold an additional 1.03 million units in the last 12 months. The PlayStation 4 is currently leading with 3.80 million units.
"The PlayStation 4 has sold 28.71 million units, while the Xbox One has sold 24.91 million."
Sony has meanwhile recorded new sales figures in other key markets that the Xbox has not managed to conquer.
New Media Crate data reveals that PlayStation 4 has been sold to more than eight million units sold in Japan.
This information would be for the week ending March 24, which will be good news for Sony given the growing power of the Nintendo switch.
The latest Nintendo console is close to a similar number in the region, available for a little over two years.
Although Microsoft may be falling behind its competitors, it is doing a lot to generate revenue with its Xbox Live ecosystem.
A new diskless Xbox One should be announced and released in May 2019, an initiative that will prove to be an interesting experience.
This will not only mean that players will buy most of their content on the Xbox Game Store, but also that they will be able to judge the opening of the world to this idea.
A diskless console should cost less because it is cheaper to manufacture, which is another significant benefit for the Xbox.
According to another rumor this week, Microsoft is considering launching a new combined subscription service.
A new "Ultimate" subscription to the Xbox Game Pass would be under development, combining the digital library and Xbox Live Gold.
This new subscription would reduce the cost of having both subscriptions, although the price should only drop by about $ 5.
The Verge reports that this new subscription combination will be announced at the end of the year with the new Xbox diskless console.
The announcement should be made in the coming weeks and before the end of the month of April.
It is unclear whether Microsoft will host its own live event, while also offering information on some of its other projects.
It is logical that the company wants to offer something like this with the new diskless console, as this will be seen as a way to increase subscriptions.
There is evidence that Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold revenue is extremely profitable.
It will also be interesting to know if we will have news about Project xCloud, Microsoft's new cloud game company.
Declared as available on different devices, such as mobile phones, we still have no clear release date.
We do not know how much it will cost or how it will fit exactly in other Microsoft projects.
But if the tech giant finds that his latest grouping efforts have paid off, we would not be surprised to hear of a plan that combines all in one.
