5 nm TSMC process will provide 1.8x density
TSMC has announced that its infrastructure design and risk assessment will be completed for its next 5 nm process, and will continue to benefit from the foundry's EUV technology, which may be a little more mature at this stage.
Compared to the TSMC 7 nm process, the 5 nm frequency will result in a 1.8-fold increase in density and a 15 percent increase in clock speed due to process improvements. These figures have now been tested on an Arm Cortex-A72 core. TSMC stated that its 5 nm process would feed HPC applications, SoC designs, AI and the emerging 5G market.
Some of TSMC's customers already have chips based on the 5-nm process in the production at risk, which could mean that volume production could arrive in 2020.

Intel Announces Cascade Lake with 56 Cores
Intel recently hosted its Data Centered Innovation Day, where it announced a range of products designed to help propel society forward with its new "moving, storing, and processing" mantra.
Among the most important announcements are the Cascade Lake-based, 56-core Xeon Platinum 9200, part of Intel's next generation Scalable Xeon family. Notably, aside from the number of 56C / 112T, the Platinum 9200 will offer enhanced attenuations in silicon for speculative and side-channel runtime attacks like Spectrum and Meltdown. It also uses a revised 12-channel memory controller to support Intel's new DDR4-compatible Optane DC persistent memory DIMMs.
Intel also announced 10nm Agilex FPGAs, Intel 800Gb Ethernet 800 cards, Xeon D-1600 Soe, etc.

Epic Games Finally the challenges of conspiracies
One of the oldest theories about the Epic Games launcher, based on Reddit, is that its telemetry data is actually spyware implemented by the Chinese investment company Tencent Holdings. After a period of silence and apparently increasingly embarrassed by comments about the spyware launcher, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney said in a tweet:
"I support everyone's right to complain about the problem of the technology industry. The Epic Shop, with exclusive games and a set of Spartan features, is an ideal target for anger. But help please to separate the facts and opinions from the lies on spyware and foreign control. "
Tim Sweeney said he took full responsibility for the major decisions and noted that Tencent's 40% stake did not give the company any decisive decision-making power.

AMD sales should rise behind Ryzen 3000 and Navi
AMD's outlook for 2019 should be pretty good, according to Digitimes. As AMD expands its 7-nm catalog by the end of the year, it should gain a clear advantage over Intel and stabilize itself in the face of increased sales.
According to rumors, the AMZ architectures of the Ryzen 3000 and Zen 2 series offer a single-thread performance parity with Intel while maintaining its multicore performance. AMD also has 7 nm Rome-based EPYC processors waiting behind the scenes, with a flagship product of 64 cores and 112 threads. The second generation of Navi, according to rumors, would be at Computex – all made at 7 nm.
This momentum, weighed against Intel's 10nm obstacles and processor shortages, should be a buoy for AMD sales during the 2H19 period. More and more OEMs, such as HP and Lenovo, are turning to AMD to fulfill their orders, while ASUS has announced stronger than expected sales for its AMD-based offerings. AMD also sees the first adoption of its Chromebook by HP and Acer.

Corsair announces the recall of the H100i RGB Platinum SE cooler
In a message posted on the forum, Corsair issued a recall notice for a selected batch of its H100i RGB Platinum SE closed-loop coolers. The recall concerns less than 1% of the H100i RGB Platinum SE chillers sold to date; it does not seem to be a widespread or omnipresent manufacturing problem. Corsair, however, says the recall is a precautionary measure.
Coolers limited to lot code 1852 leak coolant into the tube sheath due to a faulty seal. The leak should be easy to identify because the coolant is bright green and the sleeve is white. Corsair states that the leak must be immediately visible at the opening of the box; However, leakage may also occur over time.
To locate the lot code, indicate the serial number on the package or radiator. Corsair has pictures and instructions in the attached forum post. All other lot codes are not affected.

Gigabyte Bundling put to cart i9-9900K for $ 1600
Gigabyte will bring together a hand-picked i9-9900K with its 900 $ Aorus Extreme Waterforce Zorus 90 $ motherboard. The motherboard, the most expensive Gigabyte to date (and probably the longest of its name), is basically a Z390 Auros Extreme with a solid and custom monobloc.
Making the package more interesting is the way Gigabyte seems to want to get into the CPU binning business. The i9-9900K, hand-selected, will be delivered from a gigabyte with a 5.1 GHz overclock, and Gigabyte assures buyers that their motherboard and their BIOS have been configured to handle such overclock.
"The BIOS has also been configured to avoid the complications and confusion when typing all the 5.1GHz and higher cores during overclocking, and GIGABYTE engineers have already voltage these motherboards at higher loads than standard configurations to ensure the reliability of these cards so that users can enjoy extreme performance with all cores at 5.1GHz or higher and with excellent stability, "said Gigabyte in a Press release.
The package would cost $ 1,600; immediate availability to be determined.
