The brand new soundtrack of the confessional film Breakthrough abandoned Friday, led by "I'm standing with you", sung by the star of the movie, This is us the actress Chrissy Metz. At the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards, she gave life to the ballad with a passionate performance.
This rendition of "I'm Standing With You", written by composers legend Diane Warren, was Metz's first vocal performance on television. She was joined on the Las Vegas stage by a trio of other artists from the soundtrack – Lauren Alaina, Maddie & Tae and Mickey Guyton – to help sing. Carrie Underwood also participated at the end of the song to add to the powerful vocal showcase. On April 17, 20th Century Fox tells the true story of a young man who survived for 45 minutes without a pulse after being submerged in an icy lake. Metz plays Joyce Smith, the young man's mother.
