(WIVB / CNN / Meredith) – A 12-year-old boy from New York was killed after being shot in the head by a stray bullet.
Police in Buffalo said that there had been a shootout in a parking lot near the boy's apartment on Saturday.
A man is recovering from gunshot wounds, but officers say that a bullet has also hit the boy.
"The second victim was a 12-year-old who was on the floor of their apartment and who caught a stray bullet that went through a window and hit him in the head. He was rushed to the Children's Hospital and at 10:30 tonight he was declared dead, "said Captain Jeffery Rinaldo of the Buffalo Police Department.
According to the police, a car was reported to have been hit several times in the car park.
The police found several cases on the site.
No arrests were made.
