A 23-year-old man injured at Rohnert Park was injured in a car while he was in a state of intoxication

A 23-year-old man from Rohnert Park was seriously injured in a collision involving two cars Saturday in Santa Rosa. The other driver was arrested for impaired driving, the Santa Rosa police said.

Police, firefighters and nurses who went to the scene of the crash on North Dutton Avenue, near Highway 12 heading west, around 2:45 pm, discovered that Jared Williams was not responding to the driver's seat of a white private security vehicle, police said in a press release.

The firefighters pulled Williams out of the car and he was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of a silver Honda sedan, identified as Anthony Graves, 25, of Santa Rosa, remained on the scene and the police noticed that he was "possibly impaired by the". alcohol, "said the police. Graves suffered minor injuries.

Witnesses told the police that the Honda had been driven erratically, perhaps as fast as 80 mph heading north on North Dutton Avenue.

The Honda may have turned on a red light at the intersection with the highway and collided with the safety vehicle while it was turning left to head south on the ## 147 ## # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # 39, Dutton Avenue, police said.

Investigators determined that Graves was suffering from a mixture of alcohol and drugs, police said.

Graves was sentenced to Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of impaired driving, resulting in impaired driving with a blood alcohol level above 0.08% and impaired driving.

The intersection was closed for several hours when the police investigated the accident.
