Ahead of tomorrow’s scheduled release, Verizon has released the long-awaited One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11 for its Galaxy S20 series phones. Reports indicate that this stable update has started rolling out for the S20 5G UW, S20 + 5G and S20 Ultra 5G in the big red, offering the latest features of Android 11 as well as Samsung’s own software tweaks.

Verizon has managed to beat other U.S. carriers with the punch, pushing the update ahead of the planned wider rollout tomorrow. These software deployments happen in waves from carrier to carrier, and often the unlocked versions are among the last to get it, although this can vary.

Based on the changelog, there aren’t any surprises either, as the new update will offer Android 11 features like the new chat section for notifications, notification bubbles, and lots of tweaks. privacy in addition to other Samsung One UI 3.0 changes. Screenshots showing some of the changes are also included in the notes:

The patch notes currently indicate that the update will arrive on the Galaxy S20 UW, Galaxy S20 + 5G, and Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G starting today. Other Samsung devices expected to get it later, like the Note20 series, were not included in the wave of patch note changes on the Verizon site. The updates will include the security fixes for November 2020.

While most of us look forward to it, Verizon subscribers should be able to download the update, although it may be part of a limited soak test for now. You can manually check for updates in Settings -> System Updates -> Check for System Updates. In case of a larger version change, expect a larger download size.
