The 5-year-old boy who survived after being ejected from the Mall of America balcony is showing signs of recovery and could return home in a few months, his family said on Friday.
The boy is "alert and aware" and is no longer in critical condition, said the family in a statement issued through a lawyer.
"We are now focusing on other surgeries, healing, rehabilitation, and possibly returning home, which we hope will take place in June," the statement said. the New York Post.

The court records show that Aranda was sentenced to undergo psychological assessment or treatment after previous attacks at the mall that led to his temporary ban.
