ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – After Demarcus Lawrence of Dallas Cowboys pushed back a young boy who had asked for his autograph, the father of the latter went on his side to the interaction (now viral).
Moments after the Cowboys game against the Giants last Sunday, Lawrence was captured on a video denying 11-year-old Kamil Bautista's request for an autograph to the defender. Bautista wore a Giants jersey during the match he was attending with his family.
"Take the right jersey, my son," said Lawrence, continuing to move away from Bautista.
Now that the video has gone viral, Bautista's father, Jorge, said he did not expect so much feedback from the video and did not want it to spark controversy. But he feels it reminds him that no matter the celebrity, be nice, especially with children.
Jorge said his son was a big sports fan and that reaction was not what he expected.
However, Lawrence said stick to his comment on the jersey, saying it was not the first time he had told anyone he needed a new jersey.
But in the end, Lawrence said it was just an interaction and that Bautista's father said they did not feel any insult.
"Let's hope we'll see him and tell him, Hey, do you remember last year? Can we get an autograph? & # 39; "said Jorge.
