A woman from San Diego underwent surgery after dreaming of being forced to eat her engagement ring. She woke up to find out that she had actually eaten it.

Jenna Evans was deeply asleep Tuesday night when she dreamed that she and her fiance, Bobby, were on a high speed train fighting "bad guys". During the fight, Bobby told her that she had to swallow her engagement ring to protect her. she has entrusted KGTV, the affiliate channel of ABC San Diego.

When she woke up, she saw that the ring had disappeared and immediately understood what had happened.

"When I woke up and it was not on my hand, I knew exactly where he was," Evans said. "It was in my stomach."

Evans and his fiancée confirmed their fears after an x-ray in the emergency room. The silhouette of the ring was clearly there, in the middle of her belly.

Things took a turn when she felt the ring in her stomach and it started to become painful for her.

So, rather than letting the ring go through his organs naturally, the doctor suggested that the surest way to get his engagement ring would be to have a superior endoscopy.

"I was really happy because I do not know if I can look at it and enjoy it the same way, if I had to look for it," Evans told KGTV.

The procedure went well and the doctors were able to remove the ring from his intestines.

Even after all that she's been through, Evans is thrilled to find her ring.

"I am very grateful to have recovered and the fact that this story is happy and fun," Evans said.

The weddings of Jenna and Bobby are still scheduled to take place in her home state, Texas, next May, but there is still a difference in preparations.

She removes the ring before falling asleep.
