"A challenge to which we are ready"

The editors of Israel Hayom – Sheldon and Miriam Adelson – were among SpaceIL project donors launched in space last week.

Dr. Adelson published a special column on Sunday morning in Israel Hayom, in which she discussed the event.

"We have chosen to go to the moon during this decade and do the rest, not because it's easy, but because it's difficult because this goal will be used to recruit and to measure the best of our strengths and talents, because this challenge are ready for a project we do not want to reject and one that we intend to win, as for the rest, " she writes.

So declared President John F. Kennedy in 1962, when he announced his intention to send a man to the moon, a plan for which the United States would invest huge amounts of resources , technological know-how and manpower without being sure that he would be able to perform the task before the Soviets.We, Jews, have a nickname for such an act: "For the sake of "love of heaven", and now, thanks to the SpaceIL group, we are definitely there.

"When the Beresheet probe lands on the Moon in a month and a half, Israel will become the fourth country to become a space superpower."
