A colossal fire tears the HBO miniseries in Ellenville

ELLENVILLE, Ulster County (WABC) – An immense fire with three alarms ravaged Thursday a film taking place in the film.

The fire broke out at about 1 am at 613 Automotive, a used car dealership, on South Main Street in Ellenville.

The location is used for an HBO miniseries, "I know it's true," with Mark Ruffalo and Melissa Leo.

Nobody was hurt.

It was thought that some old cars were at the dealership at the time of the fire and that more than 50 cars were destroyed.

There were also several explosions when the vehicles caught fire.

The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation, but it is thought that it is accidental. A security guard posted on the site who called 911.

"Everyone in Ellenville was impatient," said Levi Hecht, owner of the dealership. "Everyone was passing and commenting, positive, that would bring Ellenville back to life."

All the cars that were emptied were brought by HBO. Dealership owned vehicles had been moved off site for filming.

Hecht announced his intention to rebuild.

HBO issued a statement Thursday on the fire: "A fire occurred last night in a place reserved for the limited series of HBO.I know this is true.The shoot is over. early in the evening and no one was injured.The fire is currently under investigation We have temporarily suspended production and we expect a resumption shortly. "
