A company criticized for a job offer "preferably Caucasian"

A Virginia-based IT recruitment firm was criticized on Monday for a job offer that was looking for "preferably white" candidates.

Cynet Systems made this controversial request in an online ad for a Pharmaceutical Accounts Manager position in Tampa, Florida.

"Preferably, white, with good technical knowledge, including skills in RPA," reads the job description. "Individual relationship that can get more opportunities and build the account."

Discrimination in employment based on ethnicity, race or skin color is illegal.

Social media users were outraged by the screenshots of the racist job post.

Cynet Systems, based in Sterling, Va., Apologized for "the anger and frustration caused by the offending position" and blamed this mistake on a former employee.

"We understand why some may have been unhappy to see this list, because we too," the company said in a statement on Monday. "Our company has a long-standing policy of refusing any request to list only candidates seeking ethnic, gender or other inappropriate restrictions, and we will refuse clients who wish to include requirements of this type. "

He also noted that his owners "are Indo-American [and] our workforce is more than 60% minority, "the statement said.

He did not disclose specific details regarding the employer at the center of the post or where he had asked for white candidates, but it was stated that the person who had created the posting had been fired.
