The man who fired a gun after taking out his gun was arrested Friday night, officials said.
Elizabeth's 19-year-old Cesar Garcia-Lemus is charged with two second-degree offenses related to the incident that took place at 400 blocks from Vine Street in Elizabeth, the Union County Attorney's Office announced. .
When the officers responded to a man's 22 hours call with a weapon, they said that they found Garcia-Lemus. When they arrived, Garcia-Lemus would have released a 38-gauge handgun, officials said.
An Elizabeth police officer fired a rifle bullet from his gun, and the suspect was arrested, officials said.
Nobody was injured in the shooting, said the prosecutor's office, and the handgun was found.
The Union County Attorney's Office Firing Intervention Team investigates the circumstances in accordance with the Attorney General's policy.
Garcia-Lemus remains at the Union County Jail pending his first appearance.
