The event will take place tomorrow as a countdown has been launched over the Loot Lake safe.
The Data Miners let filter the new event files that were added during the last updates. However, Epic had not officially announced that something would happen. There are two events that have been leaked, the Unvaulted event and the volcano event.
The Unvaulting event must take place at Loot Lake, where the safe is essentially such that the event will require players to vote for which of the six elements they would like to see unshielded. Items to choose from are: Bouncer, Drum Gun, X4-Hurricane Aircraft, SMG Tactical, Grapple and Infinity Blade.
The countdown has just appeared at Loot Lake and so when the countdown ends, we should see the event begin. Make sure to queue up early to see the event at stake.

Currently, only five of the six screens are displayed on the Loot Lake screens, as the Infinity Blade has not yet been displayed.
