A desperate search was launched on a yoga instructor going on a hike to Maui last week and never come back.

Amanda Eller, 35, was reported missing on Thursday as her family and friends say they have not heard from her since Wednesday at 7:00 am.

Eller's white Toyota RAV4 was found Thursday morning in the parking lot of the Makawao Forest Reserve.

Many of his belongings, including his mobile phone, were inside the vehicle.

Sarah Haynes, a friend of the missing woman, said that it was not uncommon for Eller to leave her phone behind because she "likes to unplug her phone when she is going to run".

Several law enforcement agencies are searching the area around which the Eller car was discovered, a $ 10,000 reward having been offered for information regarding its location.

"We do everything we can think of, and there was no sign of it," Haynes told KHON. She said that horses, dogs, ATVs, repellers and drones were used in the research reported on a Facebook page called Findamanda.

The latest article published Sunday afternoon included a newspaper article about Eller's disappearance and revealed that his mother was coming to Maui to participate in the searches.

Noting that we are celebrating Mother's Day today, the message read as follows: "Let's Amanda Amanda in her mother's arms safely."

Haynes said about Eller: "Amanda is really loved in the yoga community and people come from all over the island to hike and try to find her."

Eller's personal website describes her as a physiotherapist who became a certified yoga teacher when she moved to Maui.

She wrote on the site that she spends her time "exploring the beautiful outdoor scenery while diving, surfing on paddles and hiking" when she does not treat patients or n & rsquo; Does not teach yoga.

Relatives asked anyone available to join the search. Tips can be submitted to Detective Dennis Cliff at 808-244-6433 or Eller Sarah Haynes' friend at 415-336-4591.
