A Detroit postal worker needed the help of street residents after suffering a freak dog attack Friday, captured on video.
The incident occurred Friday afternoon in the western part of the city while the postman was delivering it.
In the video posted on Facebook, one can see the dog attacking the foot and ankle of a 52-year-old man, while a woman strikes the animal with a broom.
The man who records the video then comes in, using a garbage container, spatula and even a steering wheel lock to try to let the dog go. The dog finally released the postman, but charged one of the neighbors who was forced to return to the interior.

"We are deeply grateful to the concerned citizens who brought in the help of our postman," the agency told FOX2. "Unfortunately, such attacks provide postal services with an opportunity to remind dog owners that it is their responsibility to restrict their pets in order to avoid attacks against our employees in the performance of their duties.
