A family of a girl injured in a shooting in the synagogue was the victim of an anti-Semitic crime in 2015

The girl, identified as 8-year-old Noya Dahan, of Mira Mesa, was hit in the face and leg by a shrapnel when an armed gunman opened fire on worshipers at Chabad Synagogue of Poway. Noya and two others were injured in the shooting and a woman – Lori Gilbert-Kaye, 60, of Poway – was killed. Noya's uncle was among those wounded in the attack.
