Season Two of One-Punch Man Saitama and the Heroes Association are doing their best to stave off the efforts of Garou and the Monsters Association. Garou's hunting hero crusade and the Monster Association's attempts to overtake the surface world may have created fantastic stories, but some fans have missed the season 1 animation, the second season being taken over by JC Staff. Some OPM Fans have started a petition for original season director Shingo Natsume to return to direct the third season of the franchise.
Change.org received a petition petition from fans seeking to change the director's seat for the third confirmed season of A punch. While the petition currently only requires 1,000 signatures, it is clear this season that many fans are asking for a change. The first season of the series featuring Saitama, the "Hero for Fun", was created by Madhouse Entertainment and directed by Mr. Natsume.
Shingo was not left out in the animation industry, having already participated in two classic series of action cartoons in the form of: Space Dandy and Gurren Lagenn. Natsume recently completed the animated series Boogiepop and others with Madhouse again, leaving his schedule open to eventually return if the stars line up.
Fans seemed to notice a marked difference in the styles of animation between Madhouse and JC Staff, many noting that the animation of A punch was a lot smoother and faster in the first season compared to the second. Whether Madhouse and the original director come back or not to A punch, or if the series will come back at all, still remains to guess, but given the popularity of the franchise, we bet that the latter is a safe bet.
