A 52-year-old man from Minneapolis, accused of beating and raping his two twin daughters with mental disabilities was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Judge Fred Karasov of Hennepin County sentenced the man Wednesday for crimes against women while they were teenagers and for endangering his third daughter, who is a teenager.

One of the twins said in a statement from the victim that their father "had hurt, used and abused the whole family". According to the statement, the woman hoped that her father would spend the rest of his life being chained in the same way that he had chained his two daughters to their beds and their doors.

The twins, who are now 22, were not at the hearing. The Associated Press does not name the father to avoid identifying women.

The man pleaded guilty last week to first-degree criminal sexual behavior, first-degree assault and endangering blatant offenses. Six other charges were dismissed under a plea agreement.
