A favorable schedule could make the difference for 76ers

Against a reorganized Toronto squad led by superstar Kawhi Leonard and breakout star Pascal Siakam, the Philadelphia 76ers will need all the possible benefits to succeed in their second round streak.

In the future, rest days in the remaining schedule may well be the most important factor that could make the difference in a tie-breaking series.

The playoffs this season have been successful so far, but they raise many concerns about injuries. Joel Embiid was beaten against the left knee throughout the regular season and playoffs, which led him to miss the third game against the Brooklyn Nets in the first round.

According to ESPN's Jackie MacMullan, Embiid recently revealed that he had six treatments a day to keep him available during the playoffs. The All-Star center also nearly missed Monday's second game against Toronto following gastroenteritis problems.

Forward Mike Scott missed the first game against the Raptors with a bruised heel and plantar fasciitis on his right foot. Since Scott has been around every day since then, there is a good chance that he is ready to go with a few days of rest.

Needless to say, the two-day breaks between parts 2 and 3, as well as parts 3 and 4, will be essential for the 76ers to have time to heal.

Mike Scott's fierce defense and quick shot in the first round showed that he could deliver big games, and everyone knows the value that Embiid brings to the court.

The 76ers will return home at Wells Fargo Center on Thursday night in hopes of taking a 2-1 lead over Toronto. Fortunately for them, the match will take place after a two-day break between the second and third match. The same gap between the third and fourth match seems to play in their favor.
