What began as a disgusting incident turned into a magnificent incident, after Jack Grealish was attacked for the first time by a fan during a match, then responded with a magnificent winning goal.

In the first half of a matchup between Aston Villa and Birmingham in the English league (level just below the Premier League), Villa's Grealish was hit by a Birmingham fan who ran on the pitch and went snuck behind him.

"Birmingham City Football Club would like to apologize to Jack Grealish and Aston Villa Football Club for an incident in this afternoon's derby.

"We deplore the behavior of the person who committed this act and we are certain that he will be banned from St. Andrew for life. The club will also support any additional sanction that this person may face in the eyes of the law.

"The club will work with the appropriate authorities to investigate all the circumstances and we will review our stadium safety procedures.

"What happened has no place in football or in society. Jack is a boy from Birmingham and, whatever his allegiance to the club, he should not have been subject to that. There is no excuse.

"Once again, we apologize to Jack and all members of the Aston Villa football club."
