A small plane, supposedly a helicopter, crashed on the roof of a high-rise building in New York, local officials said. Only a few details were immediately available.
The accident occurred just before 2 pm Monday, when the aircraft crashed or crashed at the top of 787 7th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. This happened in a 54-storey office building.
The New York Fire Department confirmed the accident and reported a two-alarm incident, but the details regarding the injuries are not immediately known. It is unclear what type of aircraft is involved and how many were on board.
"We felt a jolt in our building and shortly thereafter we were instructed to evacuate," said a building worker. Thousands of people have been evacuated from the building.
