A home invasion suspect captured after escaping from the hospital despite a machete injury

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (AP) – According to CNN, the 48 hours of Jataveon Dashawn Hall have been crazy.

Police said the 19-year-old man broke into his home in Mebane, North Carolina on Friday, when an 11-year-old boy hit him in the head with a machete. He then went to the hospital, only to escape in his dress because he knew the authorities were looking for him, police said.

Police caught Hall in his mother's apartment in Burlington after receiving an anonymous tip, according to an article posted on Facebook by the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Hall has been placed on a $ 100,000 secured bail and his first court appearance is scheduled for Monday, the post announced. The Hall's leak from the hospital took place just hours after the thwarted home invasion on Friday, the sheriff's office announced.

Authorities in North Carolina have stated that a home invasion suspect deterred by an 11-year-old child with a machete had left the hospital and was on the run.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office announced Saturday that Jataveon Dashawn Hall, 19, had left the hospital where he was being treated Friday for head injuries. He faces charges of breaking and entering and assault. He was free on Saturday night.
