An alligator of an estimated length of 9 feet was moved following heavy rains in the Grubbs area of Arkansas, which caused the overflow of nearby rivers.
Frank Pierce, a resident of the area, told KAIT-8 that he and his family had seen the large reptile "lying on the ground" while they were out fishing.

Later, the authorities of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office were called. Sheriff David Lucas said that officials had initially thought the call was a joke.
"When we received the call, we thought it was a prank, a newspaper or something like that, because you do not see the gators so far in the north, "he told the TV channel.
