A J. Pollock will undergo a right elbow operation

Despite a checkered past on injuries, AJ Pollock signed a four-year $ 55 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers in what was largely a freeze on MLB's free agencies for the players.

The Dodgers and Pollock have expressed confidence that his twice-fractured elbow was more of a bad luck than an indication of a player likely to be injured. While this may be true, the reality is that Pollock is on the 10-day wounded list after playing 28 games.

He was not available in the first game of the Monday series against the San Francisco Giants due to a right elbow infection. After being placed on the pestle, Pollock returned to Los Angeles to undergo a full intervention on his elbow.

The goal was to determine the extent of the infection and the plan of action. according to Ken Gurnick of MLB.comPollock will be operated on Thursday:

Pollock had a screw and a metal plate inserted into his right elbow after fracturing him in 2010. He broke the joint again in 2016 and was limited to 12 games this season.

The Dodgers are not sure yet of the schedule for Pollock's return, although it is reasonable to expect a few weeks to be missed.
