A Lyft driver runs out of gas and is suspended with 17 license suspensions

A Lyft driver, who ran out of gas in Suffolk County, was arrested for driving with 17 suspensions of driver's licenses, according to cops.

Leith Crossen, 57, of Cherry Hill, N.J., ran out of gas after dropping a passenger around 9:35 pm. Saturday on Woodbury Road, near the Cold Spring Harbor station, police said.

The police saw Crossen in his 2007 Volkswagen Jetta after responding to a report of a possible drunk driver in the area.

Crossen was not drunk, but when the police used his license, he returned with 17 suspensions, police said.

The Jersey man has been accused of aggravated and unlicensed exploitation of a motor vehicle.
