A man in Tennessee reportedly killed his 76-year-old mother over the weekend and reportedly asked colleagues to take a photo of him at work to help form an alibi, police said.
Fifty-one-year-old John Ralph was fleeing the country on Saturday when US Customs and Border Protection agents and the US Marshals drove him to Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, about 300 km away. home of Tennessee that he shared with his mother.

He had been charged with first degree murder in the death of Edith Betty Ralph, who, he had said repeatedly, "drove him crazy."
"Ralph lived with his mother and had already made many statements to his friends and family: his mother was driving him crazy," the Clayton County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.
Police found the woman's body Saturday in their common home in northeastern Tennessee. She died of severe trauma to the head and several gunshot wounds, police said.
John Ralph had previously asked his colleagues to photograph him at work in case something "would happen to his mother".
"On the night of Ms. Ralph's murder, John asked his colleagues to take him to work saying that if he had to do something to his mother, he would need an alibi," said the sheriff's office.
Police in Carter County, Tennessee, where the Ralph lived, said they were proud of the authorities' quick work in capturing the suspect.

"We quickly found evidence that led us to suspect John Ralph," county sheriff Dexter Lunceford told the local press, Johnson City Press. "We learned that he had bought a plane ticket for Amsterdam that had left Atlanta at 10:20 that night … I do not even know if we have extradition with Amsterdam."
John Ralph is being held in Georgia with a $ 1 million bond and is awaiting extradition to Tennessee. It is unclear whether he got a lawyer.
