TRENTON, N.J. (AP) – A man from New Jersey who almost forgot his $ 273 million Mega Millions lottery ticket in the store he bought it from, said he would reward anyone who gave it back.

Mike Weirsky (WUR-skee) said at a press conference with lottery officials Thursday that he had left the bills behind him at a Quick Check store in Phillipsburg, near the Pennsylvania border, the week before last.

Someone found them and gave them to the store for them to hold it.

The draw took place Friday and he discovered Sunday that he won the first prize.

Aged 54, he says he'll "sit down and enjoy" money. He said the first thing he would buy was to buy a new van.

Weirsky says that he divorced last fall and that he has not been able to find jobs since.
