PHOENIX – A man in Arizona was arrested after making threats in an Islamic center.

According to a statement from the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to the United Islamic Center of Arizona on Saturday night.

When the officers arrived, they were told that a man, later identified as Noel Thomas Becht, had entered the center, saying that he was curious to know the Muslim religion and that he was not sure. he had been invited to attend a ceremony.

Becht did it for a while, but the police said he had started wandering around the rooms and areas in which he was not allowed to surrender without an invitation. He asked unusual questions about hours of service at the center and at another mosque.

When questioned by one of the leaders, the police stated that Becht had put a finger on his neck and made a sawing request.

He was arrested and incarcerated at Maricopa County Prison, charged with threats and intimidation, disorderly behavior and intrusion.
