An unidentified man on Saturday entered the district office of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a member of Congress, sprinkled a fire extinguisher and then hid in a closet until the police reached retain it, according to ABC7 in New York.

Police have been alerted to the incident by security means, and the man is in custody, the police reported, citing the New York Police Department.

There was no one at the office at the time, the station said.

Ocasio-Cortez was in Washington on Saturday. She is scheduled to appear this week with George Stephanopoulos on ABC News Sunday morning.
