DELRAY BEACH, Fla. – Authorities claim that a Florida man died after crashing a Tesla in a trailer.
A report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office indicates that the accident occurred on Friday morning at Delray Beach.
The report indicates that the truck was turning left on a divided highway heading north when the southbound Tesla 3 2018 struck the driver's side of the semi-trailer, causing the roof of the trailer to tear. Tesla when she went under the trailer. Tesla driver Jeremy Beren Banner, 50, died on the scene.
The report did not specify whether the Tesla autopilot or automatic emergency brakes were activated.
The automaker issued a statement stating that it was cooperating with the authorities.
