A man convicted of helping to hide the death of a missing teacher in Georgia was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

According to media reports, Bo Dukes, 34, was sentenced Friday morning by a court in Abbeville.

Dukes was convicted Thursday night of lying to investigators over the death of Tara Grinstead in 2005. The body of the high school history teacher was reduced to ashes and bone fragments in an orchard pecan nuts.

What happened to the woman was not revealed until Dukes and another man were arrested in 2017.

Dukes was found guilty of two counts of misrepresentation, obstruction of the arrest of a criminal and concealment of a death.

His co-defendant, Ryan Alexander Duke, is charged with murder in Grinstead's death and should be tried on April 1 in Irwin County.
