A man from Oregon was arrested because of the disappearance of his 3 year old son and the boy's mother, who went missing nearly two weeks ago.

Michael John Wolfe, 52, was arrested on Friday and faces two counts of aggravated murder and two counts of kidnapping for the disappearance of William "Billy" Fretwell and Karissa Alyn Fretwell, 25 years.

Family members reported the disappearance of the mother and son on May 17, the Salem Police Department said in a press release.

Lt. Treven Upkes said at a press conference on Friday that the murder charges against Wolfe do not mean that Fretwell and William are dead.

"We think we have probable grounds to lay a charge of murder, but any evidence presented during the investigation could change the facts," he said.

Upkes said Wolfe had been arrested by Salem police detectives in a donut shop in the Portland area. Wolfe, who is married, had already been named as a person of interest in this case. He is being held at Yamhill County Jail.
