Bradley S. Jenkins, 30, faces a domestic violence charge in the death of his wife, 27-year-old Allisa L. Martin, on an affidavit of probable cause.
Martin was found dead Sunday morning on the ramp of a parking lot near Busch Stadium, where newlyweds and a few colleagues had attended a Cubs-Cardinals game in Chicago just hours earlier.
The investigators found Martin's cell phone on the seventh floor of the parking garage, just above the area where his body was found, the affidavit said.
The cell phone had been recording a video for some time. Martin checked in briefly and turned the camera to Jenkins as they argued, says the affidavit.
"During the recording, you can hear him screaming for him to stop hitting himself in the face," the document says.
Martin then dropped the phone.
Detained on bail of $ 100,000
"Not long after, you hear her screaming as she falls and you hear the thud of her body hitting the ground," he said.
Authorities said Jenkins denied being on the roof of the garage and claimed that the fight between him and Martin was never physical.
Jenkins was brought to trial for the assault charge on Tuesday. He is being held on bail of $ 100,000, according to court records.
CNN asked Jenkins' lawyer to comment.
Jenkins could potentially be the subject of homicide charges as long as the investigation continues, officials said.
A spokesman for the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office said that the video on cell phone would not be broadcast due to the ongoing investigation.
