A mother and her son found dead in Belmont's apartment

According to the police, a mother and her son were found dead, apparently with head trauma, in a Belmont apartment.

Police said they responded to a 911 call from a "past aggression" inside 775 E. 185th Street. They found a woman and a teenager dead in an apartment around 15:30.

The victims were identified as Marisol Ortiz, 51, and Alanche Delorbe, 14. News 12 is told that the victims are a mother and her son.

According to the police, both victims reportedly had head trauma. They were declared dead on the scene.

According to sources, a possible weapon to kill them was an exercise weight and the mother might have been stabbed too.

The bodies were found in separate rooms. Ortiz was found lying on the floor in the bedroom, while her son was found in a bed in another room.

No arrests have been made yet, according to police.
