"Angela said that Jackie told her that she was going to watch the birds in the yard," Jackie's daughter-in-law, Jessica, told Dateline. "Fifteen minutes later, she went to see her. And she was gone.

Susan Rathbun, Hinsdale Police Chief, told Dateline that Angela had called the authorities to report her sister's disappearance around 11:30 am on the same day.

"We sent the fire, which was part of our search and rescue activities. And we warned the Massachusetts State Police, who brought dogs for a ground search, "said Chief Rathbun, adding that a helicopter search had also been conducted this afternoon . "For the initial search, obviously, you want to put the shoes on the ground as soon as possible. It is a rural area and at night it was not the best choice for the way the family says it was dressed. "

Jessica, who lives in California, said that Angela had called her family members shortly after alerting the police.

"Angela lives in the Berkshire mountains, which are heavily forested," Jessica said. "She did not pick up her cell phone, her ID or her change of clothes, and we do not think she had any money on her."

Jessica said her father, Jackie's husband, Nate Coutinho, was in Florida when Jackie disappeared. With Jackie's other daughter-in-law and two daughters living in Maine, he traveled to Hinsdale to help find Jackie.

"A lake is about 800 meters from Angela's house, but it is not very deep. It's only 25 feet deep in the deepest part, "Jessica told Dateline. "The Massachusetts State Police asked a diving team to search the lake, but she found nothing."

Chief Rathbun said the search and rescue teams had searched the surrounding woods "at least half a dozen times" since Jackie's disappearance, and that the authorities had checked nearby hospitals and trains to detect anything. sign of disappearance.

"We checked every box we can think of. But apart from the police station and the fire station, there are not many surveillance cameras, "she said. "I do not have a gas station in town. I do not have a bank in town. So when you talk about cameras – it's not that we did not check them out, it's just that nothing is to be checked. "

Chief Rathbun went on to say that the police had no track or evidence of a criminal act in Jackie's disappearance.

"At this point, she is a 53-year-old consenting adult. So there is not much more police action because there is no criminal activity, "Rathbun told Dateline. "There is no theory. There is no rhyme or reason. We hope the family will be happy and safe there. "

Jackie's daughter-in-law, Jessica, told Dateline that she and her sisters were clinging for a difficult time.

"Sometimes it does not seem real. However, my sisters and I have never been so close. And honestly, it's the only blessing – if there is one – of all of this, "Jessica said. "We four girls and Angela and my mother have tried to do everything we can."

Jackie Coutinho is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds, with gray / blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a purple fleece jacket, a red hooded sweater, blue jeans and white sneakers.
