A Tennessee man accused of seizing a 14-year-old girl on a street in a popular Sunday tourist destination was approached by his father and bystanders, police said.

Eric Craig, 38, was retained until the officers arrived. Police said that he had caught the teenager on Broadway near many honky-tonk bars in Nashville.

Craig was charged with assault, according to an affidavit relating to his arrest. He said that he grabbed the teenager by the shoulder and spun him to face him.

Craig then told the girl that she "had a nice one …" but "did not finish her statement because it (a) was seized by the victim's father." ", according to court documents.

Craig told police that he "just wanted to tell him that she looked good," when the teenager's father and passers-by caught him, specified the affidavit.

A spokeswoman for the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department told Fox News that Craig was homeless.
