A new Disney space to immerse visitors in a Star Wars story

(AP / KSBY) – The world of Star Wars comes from a galaxy far, far away, to become the largest single-theme field created inside a Disney park.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is an adventure across the dirty Batuu planet where guests can build their own droids and lightsabers, swap with aliens and ride in the cockpit of the huge Millennium Falcon, where you discover your mission and participate in an air combat with Tie Combattants.

The vast "Star Wars" trilogy spans a distant 14-acre world, so do not expect appearances from Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader. But some familiar faces, including fan favorite Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren and Chewbacca, will guide visitors into an immersive world.

The new Star Wars course will also include several food and beverage options, including the Cantina d'Oga, which will be Disney's first opportunity to publicly serve alcoholic beverages. There will also be Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, Ronto Roasters, Milk Stand and Kat Saka's Kettle.

Disney guests will also be able to use the Play Disney Parks mobile app to interact with different elements of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

The opening is scheduled for Disneyland this summer and Disney World in the fall.
