PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Authorities say that a man who stole a car with three young children inside was fatally beaten by his father and other men.
The Philadelphia police said the car was parked in a pizzeria with the engine running when the man left around 9:15 pm. Thursday. The children's mother was inside the restaurant and spoke with the father of two of the children.
The vehicle quickly found itself stuck in traffic and authorities said the couple had pulled the 54-year-old man out of the vehicle. The man escaped but was caught by the father. A fight ensues, other men joining us.
The man, identified as Eric Hood, lost consciousness and was taken to the hospital where he died.
No charges have been filed. Children, 7 months to 5 years old, were not injured.
