The former president of Planned Parenthood wrote a burning letter to the organization's board – which was obtained by The New York Times.
Dr. Leana Wen was fired by the group in July.
"It's profoundly hypocritical," she wrote, that Planned Parenthood "would try to impose a gag order on its former president / CEO while fighting the Trump Administration's gag rule on suppliers of title X ".
She accused the organization of withholding health insurance and a departure payment as a "ransom" in order to have her sign a confidentiality agreement.
"No amount of money will ever buy my integrity and commitment to the patients I serve," she wrote in a 1400-word letter.
Melanie Newman, Senior Vice President of Planned Parenthood, challenged Wen's account.
"Dr. Wen's recent allegations are regrettable, sad and simply false, "said Newman. "The lawyers representing the board of directors have made every effort in good faith to part with Dr. Wen amicably and are disappointed that they have not reached an appropriate resolution regarding their original package."
Shortly after the publication of the article, Wen Wen expressed dissatisfaction with the "leakage" of the letter.
