VICTORVILLE, Calif. (KABC) – A Victorville elementary school was closed Friday after several students reported being sick.

District officials at Adelanto Primary School decided to close Gus Franklin Jr. Primary School after several students reported symptoms such as fever, vomiting and diarrhea.

They say that there is no laboratory confirmed case of norovirus or influenza, but that the infected students have gone to the dining room and boarded at least one bus.

Officials are now working to clean up the school, which is expected to reopen on Monday.

The norovirus can cause inflammation of the stomach or intestines, depending on the centers of control and disease prevention.

A person usually develops symptoms 12 to 48 hours after being exposed to the virus, and most people recover within one to three days, the CDC says.
